MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of South Montgomery County Academy (SMCA) is to provide students with educational opportunities that will prepare them with necessary knowledge and skills to face issues they will encounter in the present, as well as, the future. Students will be offered access to a variety of experiences to enable them to succeed and become productive citizens in an ever-changing world.
BELIEFS
The beliefs of SMCA's administration, faculty, and staff are as follows:
To aid each student in developing a healthy self-image.
Students, faculty, staff, and administration will treat one another with respect and kindness.
The educational environment will be positive, encouraging, and appropriate for all students.
To aid each student in exploring his/her interests, identifying his/her talents and abilities, and relating them to vocational, educational, and recreational pursuits.
To development in each student the ability to understand the fights and duties of the citizens of a democratic society, and to be diligent and competent in the performance of his/her obligations as a member of the community and a citizen of the state and nation.
To develop within each student the self-discipline to enable the individual to function for the benefit of society.
To develop in each student the ability to gain insight into the ethical, moral and spiritual values of life, and an understanding of the significance of the family to the individual and society.
